Here are some answers to questions we commonly receive. Don’t see the answer to your question here on on another page? Feel free to contact us!
Are you a non-profit?
Jubilee Counseling and Wellness, LLC is a black woman-owned small business. We are not a non-profit organization.

Do you accept insurance?
Jubilee Counseling and Wellness does not provide mental health therapy services. Our services do not require mental health diagnosis of any kind, so we cannot bill insurance.
How is this different than therapy?
Mental health therapy requires a person be given a diagnosis to describe a set of symptoms. Jubilee acknowledges that we all need support to help us through life’s challenges sometimes, regardless of if we meet the criteria for a mental health diagnosis. Jubilee’s services are designed to provide wellness support as a supplement to, in place of, or outside of mental health therapy services.
Are you a mental health provider?
Our services have been designed utilizing training in mental health and wellness modalities. We approach mental health from the perspective of wellness, rather than illness. That means we focus on prevention and maintenance: preventing people from reaching their lowest points and developing skills to help them maintain wellness when they are not at their lowest points.
Are you affiliated with any religious organization?
While Jubilee’s name was borrowed from the spiritual tradition of a Jubilee Year, we do not belong to any religious institutions or organizations. We acknowledge the various spiritual traditions and practices of the people we encounter through our services. We encourage people to bring their whole selves to their healing process, which includes their own spirituality.
Some of the skills we teach are rooted in various indigenous traditions from all over the world and include age-old knowledge for caring for the mind and body. We encourage people to apply what they learn with us however they find most appropriate in their lives.
